1. Authentic corset vs. mass produced.
Authentic refers to a high quality constructed corset with steel boning, binding and either busk, grommet or zippered front closure. It is a true, genuine, real corset individually hand made by a skilled corsetiere to the highest standards and using the finest components available in the market today. Our corsets are designed to support the back, reshape the body and/or enhance the figure by giving a slimmer appearance and smaller waist while enhancing the breasts and hips provocatively, giving a feeling of intense femininity and sensuality. All Tower corsets include attachments for detachable suspenders for stockings. A well made corset should fit comfortably at the ribs and hips while gently compressing your waist. Tower of London offers three grades of authentic corsetry, Premium, Custom Fitted Premium, and Classic.
Our Premium line of corsets are comprised of layers of multiple panels, quality fabric or leather, lining, binding, the finest steel boning in the industry, front closures of either steel busk, grommets or zippers. The back of the corsets is laced with a durable, thick cord and sports a modesty flap. There is no denying the exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail that you will find in our Premium the line corsetry. We take pride in offering many styles of authentic, true corsetry at affordable prices that will hold its form and give you years of enjoyment, functionality and sensuality. Tower of London corsetry is measured to fit 4” smaller than your natural waist. If you desire a different color of fabric or leather, you are free to order one at no additional cost. we will simply take care of it.
Our Custom Fitted Premium corsetry is individually hand made to your measurements. You select any style from our Premium the line corsetry, fabric and components. Dream big, we will help you fulfill your fantasy. We add 20% to the base price of the corset and adjust accordingly for additional components. The final cost of the corset will reflect the amount of added designing needed to create your corset.

Additionally, we cannot be held responsible for inaccurate measurements submitted by the customer. Therefore, please measure carefully. We will provide detailed instructions on how to self measure and will help you in every way to ensure you are happy with your purchase.
Our Classic line of authentic corsetry includes two styles; an under the bust Cut Shelf Corset and an over the bust Shelf Corset. These corsets are made with layers of multiple panels, quality fabric, lining, binding, 3/8” spring steel boning, steel busk front closure. The back of the corset is made with steel boning and grommets, modesty flaps, and thick durable cording. These beautiful corsets are of high quality, have a lighter feel, are more pliable and will hold their form giving you years of enjoyment. Tower of London Classic line of corsetry carries a guarantee of 1 year. If you experience any issues with your corset, simply present your receipt and notify us and we will take care of it.
Mass produced corsets, while attractive and well made simply do not have the quality, craftsmanship, durability or life expectancy of a Tower of London authentic corset. Tower of London offers one style of mass produced corsetry in an under the bust Waist Cincher style. These corsets are not individually hand made. These corsets use the standard ¼” flexible spring steel boning, 3 layers of fabric, cotton twill band, 6 steel bars and steel busk. Fabrics are limited. Tower of London offers a 45 day guarantee. If you are unhappy for any reason simply return the corset in good condition with your receipt and we will take care of it.
2. Sizing and Plus size corsets.
Tower of London corsets are fitted 4” smaller than your natural waist. We offer ready to wear authentic corsets from 18” up to 32” that will fit a natural waist of 22” to 36”. Any corset larger than 32” needs to be custom made for a proper fit. Our massed produced corsets are offered in 2” waist increments from 20” up to 44”.
3. How to put on a corset.
It is helpful to have someone assist you. However, it is not necessary.
Step #1: Loosen the back lacing as loose as the corset will go. Then put the corset around you and fasten the front bust, zipper or lace up the front grommets. If your corset has a busk start with the 2nd to the bottom busk and work from there.
Step #2: Once the front is fastened you can adjust the modesty flap in the back if necessary and settle the corset into proper position around your natural waist.
Step#3: Reach around your back and pull the loops gently. Then tighten the lacing progressively towards the middle from the top and bottom until you are happy with the fit. You should feel a pleasant hugging sensation. Always lace down just less that you feel you can tolerate. You want to be comfortable.
4. Corset Care.
You may want to wear a chemise or hidden tube top to protect your corset from perspiration if you want to wear your corset frequently. Do not overly tighten your corset the first time you wear it. Allow your body and the corset time to mould to your curves, then you can go tighter.
We recommend that you air out your corset after wearing. Simply lay the corset flat inside up to dry.
We recommend that you always loosen the back of the corset before you remove it. This is especially true if the front of the corset has a busk or zipper. Failure to do so may cause damage to the zipper or result in a broken, bent or damaged busk.
Fabric Corsets. Cleaning your corset. When in doubt dry clean only using a trusted dry cleaner. Always tell the dry cleaner that there is steel boning in the body of the corset. Depending on the fabric of the corset you may be able to spot clean with a mild cloth or brush. Be careful not to water mark the fabric. Never wash your corset in the washer and never expose it to direct sunlight to dry. Never hang your corset over a metal hanger to dry as the hanger may leave rust marks on the fabric. Always air dry your corset.
Leather Corsets. If your leather corset becomes smudged you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth. You can treat it with a leather conditioner to keep it supple or take it to trusted leather cleaner to have it cleaned. Remember to tell the cleaner that the corset has steel boning. Again never wash in the washer, dry in direct sunlight or hang over a metal hanger to dry. Always air dry your corset after wearing.
